Welcome on board our dahabiyahs
Very different from a normal cruise, we invite you for a lifetime experience! Together with a small number of like-minded passengers, you will retrieve the heart of Egypt, during an exclusive and authentic navigation.
Propelled by the gentle Nile winds,
while sipping a cup of tea on the shaded deck, you will watch the biblic shores of the Nile pass by, with temples here, villages there. and a succession of palm groves, flooded farm land, shaded orchards, papyrus covered islands and breathtaking deserts.
At your leisurely pace, you will discover the many archaeological treasures, follow ancient trading routes, wander a camel market, dip in the refreshing waters of the Nile and meet with Egyptians as they go about their daily lives.
The word 'dahabiyah' or 'Dahabia', can be translated as 'Golden Boat'. Formerly reserved for travel by the pharaoh and the nobles of the kingdom, the dahabiyahs were covered with gold. Much later, the dahabiyah remained associated with luxury and comfort. Until the early twentieth century it was regarded as the best means of transportation to discover Egypt .

Our modern dahabiyahs
Our dahabiyahs have been built recently. They are replicas of ancient dahabiyahs whose comfort no longer reflects current expectations. A lot of care and research went into their construction, as respect of traditional rules in hull and rigging construction provide their ancestors' maneuverability. Two masts are wearing heavy cotton sails of characteristic red and cream colours.
Our dahabiyahs are fully capable of sailing while others are motor driven.

The large upper deck is a wonderful space on which to relax in sofas and floor cushions.
Most meals are served on deck or at one long table d'hote. Throughout the day, the bridge is functioning as a tearoom, an observatory post or a solarium. The sofa's are arranged in several corners welcoming a nap here or being open for meditation, reading or conversation there.
The cabins, located at the main deck are cool and welcoming. They are constructed entirely of wood, with rich moldings and ornaments. Walls and coffered ceiling all alike are painted pristine white. Only the floor of golden pine slats reflects the sun. With a few mirrors and large windows - through which you can admire the landscape of your bed - the effect is dazzling.
Each cabin has its own bathroom equipped with every comfort (cold water, hot water, sink, shower and toilet).
